I was able to capture this beautiful shot of a backlit barn owl against a dark background as it flew between me and the sun in front of far off hills

There are not many sites in the UK where this image would be possible. It requires barn owls that are active during sunset hours, living somewhere that catches the last light of day in an environment with a clear horizon.

This image really helps to highlight just how incredibly stunning the barn owl really is with intricate feather patterns against the purest of whites.

For me however, the image highlights how truly remarkable this site is, almost guaranteeing barn owl sightings with spectacular conditions.
