As the sun drops lower on the horizon, the most gorgeous golden light hits this young barn owl mid hunt.

Photographing against the shadowed hills of the Peak District i am able to isolate the owl, framed in its distinctive hunting pose, locked onto it's prey and very much ready to dive.
